On Thursday, May 15th in La Maison des Musiques (Rue Lebeau 39, 1000 Brussels) Nao and Dejana will present their "Sound Stories", violin and piano repertoire concept that tells stories through pieces of contemporary music. This edition is dedicated to "gesture and timbre". Victor Kissine will give a sort introduction to his piece of the evening.
The concert will begin at 8.15 pm.
The concert is performed without intermission and is approximately one hour long. Free admission.

[EN] “Sound Stories” is a concept in which the sounds (different, unconventional and those that are challenging the perception of “what is beautiful sound”) found in the pieces are associated with descriptive words that can lead the audible experience of understanding and following the story of the piece told. This edition of “Sound Stories” is going to emphasis on gestures used for producing the sound, gestures that produce timbres that we are not used to hearing from these instruments.
And yet, none of these gestures and techniques are used just for the sakes of “new” or “different” but rather masterfully crafted through art of composition and in the service of substantial content that creates aural world of power, sensitivity and beauty. Music that dazzles with both extremes: luminance and darkness.

[FR]"Sound Stories" nous conte l’histoire de ces “gestes” déployés par les deux musiciennes du concert pour produire des sons inouïs, impalpables, brillants ou subtils ; ces sons parfois tellement incroyables qu’ils nous font voyager hors de notre quotidienneté et de nos habitudes d’écoute. La narration sera donc au rendez-vous, sous la forme du récit magique de ces sons en mouvements, ceux-là mêmes qui nous offrent ainsi l’expérience unique du déplacement de notre écoute et de sa beauté sou-jacente.
Mais ces "Sound Stories" n’œuvrent pas que pour la nouveauté. Elles s’ouvrent aussi sur la dimznqion sensibile de notre temps et nous éblouissent par leurs expressions extrêmes situés métaphoriquement entre la lumière et les ténèbres.
