This work, belonging to the collection of works “Wishes for the Future”, functions as a non-postable yet an easy accessibly card, or in this case - wishing well. It consists of visual carries of pre-composed elementals which are then open to, first be explored and discovered, and then be used to play at viewers/listeners own imagination.
█the "wish"
May this new year, 2023, bring a lot of calmness, as a base upon which you will create your own big and small and everything in between excitements! Each day. Anew. Happy happy 2023!
█Soundolisms:
On this festive tree, the tree itself is some eternal whole. The top, the “star”, is a place used to represent the calmness from the wish - fermata - to slow down, in own pace. This top holds the longest track. This sonic wish of calmness is a canvas upon which words “happy”, “new”, and “year” translated to morse for their rhythm, and explored sonically, become the short, big, small, tall… end everything in between excitements. These sonifications are scattered and “hidden” behind the festive - trilling - symbols (happy), various going “up” - sharp - symbols (new), and the in fact always present even - natural - symbol (year). Lastly, there is a bit of magic too, a bit of sonic shimmer and sparkle hidden behind some of the wholenote-fairy lights (made out of field recording from a chime in a smallish art shop in Berlin).
█Fairylight Color Meanings:
With regard to this being a “new year’s wish card”, only positive meanings of colors are quoted in the following.
Yellow, a primary color, is the color of the mind and the intellect. It is optimistic and cheerful.
Blue, a primary color, is the color of trust and peace. It can suggest loyalty and integrity. It is the color of the ocean and the sky; it often symbolizes serenity, stability, inspiration, or wisdom.It can be a calming color, and symbolize reliability.
Magenta, a primary color, is a color of universal harmony and emotional balance. It is spiritual yet practical, encouraging common sense and a balanced outlook on life.
